I am very excited to say that we are now the proud owners of three NOOKS -- thanks in LARGE part to New York Times Bestselling author Luanne Rice! I know the lovely Luanne from my pre-library days, when I used to work in publishing. She generously donated the NOOKS to our school via Donors Choose. Many students are excited about this news and one girl said, "I always see people on the subway with those things!" Students will be able to read magazines + e-books and browse the web on these new devices. Stay tuned to find out more about our new collection of NOOKS...

Thinking of getting inked?
Many students visit the school library looking for books about tattoos. If you are planing on getting a tattoo, you might want to check out The Tattoo Encyclopedia: A Guide to Choosing Your Tattoo. It showcases the hidden meanings of many popular symbols. Want something that represents overcoming struggle? A koi fish might be for you. Is there a difference between getting a tattoo of a black rose or a red rose? Find out in this very informative book.
What's your favorite song?
After searching for some library bulletin board inspiration on Pinterest, I've decided that each month, our library bulletin board will focus on a question that requires student contribution. Right now, it is a blank canvas with a hot pink sign that reads, "What's your current favorite song? Write it down and add it to our board!" The books featured below the bulletin board will be correlated with each month's theme. Stop by to add your favorite song, or visit the blog again for some music suggestions when the board is complete!

Guest Post: The Lovely Bones
This book is good because Susie is a bright girl and when she was killed she did not give up on her dreams and when she gets to heaven she loves it there.
This book is about a girl named Susie who was killed by a guy and her mom and dad are looking for her because she did not come home after school. My favorite part of the book was when Susie’s sister went to the guy’s house and found a book about all the girls he killed. She gets to the page with her sister’s hair in the book.
I recommend this book because it is a good book to read but it’s sad when a guy is going around murdering young girls, but other than that I recommend Y’all read this book. Yall will love this book.
